About AV Girl's Lacrosse: Previously part of RAVE and East Valley, AVGL split and became it's own varsity team for the 2009 spring season.  With a new and young roster, the team was 3-11 but making excellent strides.

The 2010 season turned out to be an exciting and rewarding year.  The team finished 10-6 and making it to the section semi finals, losing to Kennedy in a heart breaker.  The AVGL team finished in the top 16 teams in the state, showing improvement.

The 2011 season ended with a 12-4 record, the best in the team's history.  Throughout the season, AVGLAX was ranked in the top 10.  The team finished ranked 8th on laxpower.com and 10th according to the Star Tribune.  There were a lot of accomplishments this season including a 2nd place finish in the South Suburban Conference.  The team also had its first player ever named to the All State team and even a couple of players were named US Lacrosse Academic All Americans.  2011 was a great season.  The first player from AVHS also signed to play DI lacrosse at Marquette University.  Good luck Jenaye!

The 2012 season proved to be the team's best yet.  The team finished with a record of 14-5.  AV Glax entered the section 3 tournament as the second seed and what would prove to be a challenging schedule in order to advance to the state tournament.  With a win in the section semi final game, AVHS advanced to their first section championship game.  The championship game was a rematch of an earlier game in the season with LNHS.  AVHS avenged the earlier season loss with a win and their first state tournament berth.  The state semi final game was a tough one against Eden Prairie, who proved to be too much for the Eagles of Apple Valley but the team showed up to play in the 3rd place game and won over Stillwater.  Congratulations to the entire team for a very memorable season.  A special thank you to the class of 2012.  They were there at the very beginning of the program, and without their hard work and dedication, the team wouldn't be where they are today.
